Before Getting Dark 2
Dripping their watercolors the flowering trees
walk in a line
Their modest lantern parade unending
Where were we going
Our wedding clothes smeared with deathly light
Everyone laughing in fragrant white
Where were we
Before it got too dark
I saw you again and again
Before it got dark
my sight dimmed and
in the lines of flowering trees I saw you not
